Our location at the gateway to Mt Aspiring National Park in the lee of the Southern Alps makes us the ideal place to hone your aviation skills and includes some of the best mountain flying in the world: the Southern Alps, Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound, Fiordland, the mighty Mt Cook and surrounding National Park itself.

INTRODUCTORY MOUNTAIN FLIGHT EXCURSION

Ideal for anyone wanting an introduction to the art of Mountain flying.

  • A highly experienced Mountain Flying Instructor dedicated to you for 1 day

  • Comprehensive Ground briefings

  • 3 hours flight time in C172/ PA28 aircraft

  • All applicable landing fees and Airways charges

  • 2 grass strip landings

  • Log Book certification of Mountain Flying/Terrain Awareness for hours flown

COMPREHENSIVE MOUNTAIN FLYING EXPERIENCE

A comprehensive course showcasing the best NZ has to offer while building vital flying skills and competency in the mountain environment.

  • A highly experienced Mountain Flying Instructor dedicated to you for 3 days

  • Comprehensive ground briefings and slide shows 

  • 10 hours of flight time in C172/ PA28 aircraft

  • All applicable landing fees and Airways charges 

  • 4 grass strip landings

  • Local Area VNC Aeronautical Map

  • Milford Sound landing

  • Mt Cook flight

  • On completion of the course, you will meet the Mountain Flight/Terrain and weather awareness hours required to obtain an NZ PPL or convert a foreign licence in accordance with AC61-3
